Pre-Wedding Photoshoot in Budapest, Fisherman's Bastion
Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Budapest, Fisherman’s Bastion
Snow and Hein are such a gorgeous, smiley couple. They came over to Budapest for their pre-wedding photos. From our initial conversation, I knew they really liked the feel of being alone and having the city to themselves, and they wanted the photos to show this.
We discussed in detail all the plans beforehand: locations, timing, dresses, make-up. I suggested having the photo session at dawn. In the summer months, the temperature can get as high as 35 degrees celsius here in Hungary. So in the early hours, it is definitely more pleasant.
And all the touristic locations which would be otherwise full of people, like Fisherman’s Bastion and The Buda Castle, are peaceful and empty. It is so nice to be out there and just walk around the whole area when the sun is coming up.
A bit before 6 a.m. I picked them up from their hotel and we drove up to Fisherman’s Bastion. Waking up early was not a problem for them as they flew in from Asia, so to them, it felt like early afternoon.
We started the photo shoot at the bottom of the stairs leading up to the Bastion, then we took some portraits on the top of the Bastion. The sun was just starting to appear in the distance and we heard the city slowly waking up.
I love these pre-wedding photo sessions in the morning. I’ll never get bored with the view of Budapest and I can imagine how special it must have felt for them too.

Kassak Museum Pre-Wedding Photography | Monika + Tommy
Kassak Museum Pre-Wedding Photography
On a beautiful early spring day I have met up with this amazing Vietnamese couple Monika and Tommy and we went out to create some pre-wedding photographs for their upcoming wedding.
We have found this hidden courtyard of the Kassak Museum in Budapest (Kassák Múzeum) with many opportunities as a background, grandiose columns, dilapidated walls and bare trees.
With the light of the setting sun, it was just the perfect afternoon. Photographing pre-wedding portraits is great as you have the luxury to spend as much time as you want with each other and you can be quite flexible with the location too.
This pre-wedding session was featured on La Bride. Head over there if you want to see more images.
Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Around Budapest Opera House
Pre-Wedding Photoshoot Around Budapest Opera House
Janel and Claus flew in from Hong Kong for their pre-wedding photoshoot in Budapest.
We were emailing each other for a while beforehand, and they told me they had no preferences of where we should go, they like the style of my photographs so I should just go ahead and do whatever I’d like to do with them. They just trust my decisions. This was obviously great to hear.
I had some locations in my mind, but as always, sessions evolve on the day and it wasn’t different on this day either. We were just walking around the Budapest Opera area first, looking for pockets of light, and trying to avoid the tourists, when they mentioned that their Airbnb place is just around the corner and they kind of like the look of the staircase.
So I said sure let’s have a look, why not. It proved to be a great spot just the way I love it, beautiful light coming through the window, kind of dark inside.
Dates are limited for the upcoming season so if you are in the process of planning your wedding in Budapest or anywhere else in Europe, or you would like to have pre-wedding portraits do get in touch soon.
