Gozo, Malta’s charming little brother, is a breathtaking destination with rolling hills, stunning bays, golden beaches, and picturesque villages filled with historic squares and beautiful churches. Among its finest wedding venues is Ta’ Cenc Hotel Gozo, a place that feels wonderfully remote yet easily accessible, just a short 20-minute ferry ride from Malta’s westernmost tip.
Jake, the groom—and a fellow photographer—reached out to me to capture their special day, and I couldn’t wait to document it. There’s something truly special about having the trust of another photographer to tell their love story.
Before the wedding, Jake and Jess rented a farmhouse, inviting their closest friends to spend a week together in Gozo, making unforgettable memories before their big day.
On the wedding morning, we met at the farmhouse for their getting-ready moments before heading to Palazzo Palina, a 17th-century palace connected to Ta’ Cenc Hotel and a stunning setting for weddings.
A Perfect Summer Wedding at Palazzo Palina
Palazzo Palina offers a spacious indoor and outdoor setting, and with Gozo’s warm June weather, the entire wedding took place in the beautiful palace gardens. The civil ceremony was held in a separate courtyard, creating an intimate and private setting away from the evening celebrations.
For a hot summer wedding, this venue is ideal—the courtyard is shaded by beautiful trees, and as the sun sets, the light becomes incredibly atmospheric, making every moment feel even more magical.
Breathtaking Wedding Portraits at Ta’ Cenc Cliffs
Just a short drive from the hotel, the breathtaking Ta’ Cenc Cliffs offer the perfect escape for couples to sneak away from their guests for 10–15 minutes at sunset.
How to Get to Ta’ Cenc Cliffs?
Leaving the hotel, drive around the village on the main road. On your left, you’ll spot Xewkija village across the valley, offering a stunning panoramic view. Just past this, you’ll find a small parking area, though it’s unmarked. From there, a short 5-minute walk leads you to the cliffs—where a breathtaking 100m drop and unparalleled views of the sea and Malta await.
It’s an absolutely unforgettable location and well worth the visit, making for the perfect sunset wedding portraits that capture the essence of Gozo’s natural beauty.
